"...the search engine will have a chat-like interface, similar to ChatGPT..."

Soooo, basically gone is the choice to vet search results for individual applicability in Google? It will decide for me, what matches most, based on its assessment, parameters and whatever programming bias, behind the scenes?
Gone is the random, serendipitous stumble onto the exact information you never knew you were looking for?
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sensing a not-so-subtle censorship in moving to that interface. Most peeps dont go beyond the 1st page of results anyway, but then some of us do...and we like it!๐๐คจ
Hi and thank you so much, I really appreciate the feedback and kind words.
As for AI search, youโre right in your understanding, although Iโm not so sure itโs as conspiratorial as you might think. Today, in the traditional Google results, the links you see are ranked by opaque algorithms that are influenced by advertising dollars. Thatโs a form of censorship where Google is decided what youโre going to see, and thatโs how it worked for ages. In the new approach, the AI will find the top 2 or 3 or 4 articles that Google has decided best answer your query, the AI will read and summarise the articles and then spit out a concise answer, giving the appearance of a definitive answer, when it is actually only as good as the source articles Google chose to read.
Sadly, thereโs not much randomness in the first page of a Google search result and I suspect there wont be in any new model.
Love your work.๐ค๐
Am I understanding this right re Google?-
